    Howard,

    FireFox with NoScript & AdBlock Plus addins does a respectable job for no cost.
    The FlashBlock addin also helps. HTH

    AdwCleaner is not a real time popup blocker. It must be run manually to clean out installed adware and toolbars. It is very effective in cleaning out malware that Malwarebytes misses.

    The popup that you show looks like a case of malware that got installed on your PC and as Bruce suggested may be cleaned out by AdwCleaner.

    You could have adware on your system that is creating the popups, or an installed program that is
    specifically configured to check for updates at predetermined frequency.
    (as far as I'm concerned it looks like crapware to me)

    You need to make a determination about what is what here.
    We don't know what is installed on your system, you do.

    Driver update programs;
    Go through your installed programs and check for such programs that are designed to keep your system up to date.
    And if it is present you can either configure them to do so manually, or uninstall the program altogether.
    Adware and other crapware;
    Many downloadable programs these days have crapware associated with them.
    Look for them bundles with software you've downloaded recently.
    *Bruce's suggestion of running AdwCleaner is sound, it's an excellent little tool from a reputable site.

    Running a fully updated AV/AM scan should be among your first actions here.
    Merely looking for software to block a popup is insufficient and overlooks the real issue.

    Hi Guys

    Thanks for the valuable info. I have installed AdBlock Plus and Adwcleaner and no longer have these annoying ads popping up
