    ReadOnly (Publisher 2000)

We have some files that will not allow us to delete, rename or make any changes to them. I checked the Properties value and they are not noted as "Read Only", although they will say they are.

Any suggestions? Some will say "access denied" also. Nothing odd was done to these files.

Are the files in a network folder? It is possible for files that were open when the PC crashed to remain "in use" according to the network file system. If you reboot the server, the server will "let go" of your files and you'll be able to delete them.

Also, if some other user has them open, you'll not be able to perform file operations on them.

These files are on the server, created originally on my local hard drive. The server has been rebooted since so they weren't released. ?????

Did you save these files to a folder located on your server? If so, you may have to have your network administrator check the status of the files.
