    Return Receipts (Outlook 2000)

    Many of my contacts request return receipts in their emails.

    When asked by Outlook I always answer "Yes" and the receipt is placed into the "outbox". Unfortunately, although I press "send and receive" often, the return receipt is never sent; it always remains in the "outbox."

    Any ideas?

    You don't mention if you are running stand-alone or in Corp/Workgroup mode. If the latter, this could be an old bug in Exchange SMTP server showing up. I think it was fixed in SP3.
