    Shortcut to wireless Internet connectivity?

Sometimes, especially if my laptop goes into hibernation, I lose the internet connectivity. If I try going through Network Sharing, there is no connection available. If I reboot though, I can see the internet connection light go on during startup -- every time. So there is some process that is being employed or initiated that resolves any issue.

Isn't there a way to set up a shortcut that could do that without having to do a full restart?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

When the computer goes into hibernation or sleep mode, network connectivity can terminate. That's why you need to reboot to reestablish the connection.

I would leave the laptop always on (i.e. don't hibernate or sleep), and lock or blank the screen if you want to. This will keep the connection always active.

    Hello, Chuck.
As suggested by Road Runner, this will work for you. It does for me and I have to use it at times. Make sure that the Network icon is present on that bar, close to the clock. A great day to you. Jean.

I didn't think about the battery. I have a desktop computer, and it stays on all the time, unless I go out of town.
