"X" Close Button Win 8.1 Update Metro Apps

I tried the "X" Close button on the Metro Apps in Windows 8.1 Update. Check the Task Manager - it closes the full screen window, but it doesn't close the app. This probably has an effect on computer resources and battery usage.

Yes, it is kind of a "soft" close. The program will be completely shut down over time. If by resources you mean RAM usage, I would not worry about that. Windows will kill the program if it needs memory. If the program is inactive it will not affect battery life.
