How to disable the 'crash angel' ?

For some unexplained reason, some of the programs I often use, although they work perfectly and have not crashed, cause the winged and haloed crash 'angel' to pop up.

Is there a settings switch or a registry entry that can turn off the 'crash angel'?

In Win7 there was a single registry line that could disable that pop-up without effecting other Windows error reporting. But in Win8.1, there are multiple lines in the registry that involve error reporting. I could try each one, but I'd prefer not to play Russian roulette with my registry.

If someone has an idea about why this is happening or how to cure it, your wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

I believe she was part of Soluto:

    Soluto update socializes solving crashes

The Microsoft gods certainly didn't send her.

And now I remember. Senior moments are becoming senior daze.

It never did that in Win7, but I decided not to keep it and uninstalled it.

Then it came bundled with my 8.1 machine, but I forgot all about Soluto.

Interesting, you called it 'her, but I thought if it as a little guy. Bad angel = boy, good angel = girl? Oh, well.

I still don't know how to disable that little #@%*, but I sent an email to their support people. Maybe I'll find out - or maybe I'll dump it.

But thanks for setting me straight, BruceR.

For anyone else who doesn't want the 'crash angel' popping up,
Soluto responded to my question with the following solution:

    crash angel.PNG

    It worked.
