How to prevent password prompts in iTunes?

Whenever I start iTunes (on Windows 7), I'm prompted by two pop-ups:

The first says, "Sign-In Required." This is "to check for downloads."

I enter my password and click "Continue."

The second says, "Enter Apple ID and Password." This is "to use this computer for automatic downloads."

I enter my password and click "Sign In."

Is it really necessary to enter my password twice every time I use iTunes? How do I disable both of these prompts?

    Thank you.

This has worked for some people:
Start iTunes by right-click, and "Run as administrator", then enter your password when it asks, close iTunes, start it again (normally, as usual, this time)

Hi Jerry - Thanks so much for your suggestion! Unfortunately, that didn't work. Any other ideas? Thanks again.

Thanks again, Jerry. That's a great source of info -- it seems like a lot of people are experiencing this issue.

The workaround that did the trick for me was to sign-out of iTunes, and stay signed out.
