    PC Pitstop

Are PC Pitstop Optimize and PC Pitstop Driver Alert safe or they spyware? I've used them for years, but had a problem with one computer. The repair tech blamed PC Pitstop. Says it's spyware and shouldn't be installed. It's not freeware, I have a paid subscriptions. I know techs are smarter than I am about these things, but I am skeptical.
Any others have experience with this?
    Thanks-
    Caroline

Not sure about Driver Alert, but I wouldn't use Optimize on my computers and the idea of paying for it is rather outrageous - I wouldn't have it for free.

You are welcome. I have similar thoughts regarding pretty much any optimizer software, so this is applicable to similar software packages, purporting to do the same.

For most people there is no reason to update drivers as long as your system is running well. The only exceptions I make are when an operating system is initially released or when new peripheral hardware is installed. If you believe you want a new or updated driver first check the system vendor and then the original vendor of piece of hardware for which you want the driver.
