    charms problem

I am running Windows 8.1 with all updates and everything seemed to be working fine until today I pulled up the charms, tapped on weather and got the usual screen, blue with the white 'sun' but after a few seconds the desktop appeared again with the weather icon in the bar but it wouldn't open. I then tried some of the other charms with the same result - the screen opened as it shoudl but then went straight back to desktop. I tried running system restore but after going through the motions that failed so nothing was altered. is this something to do with the latest update or has Windows finally gone crazy?

Charms are only the five icons on the right (Search, Share, Start, Devices, and Settings).

Here's an introduction to Windows 8 charms, the controls available on the side of the screen for every Windows Store app.: Charms

On rare occasions when a tile app fails to start for me, it's always fine after restarting windows.

Thanks Bruce but I had triedy rebooting but that didn't work for me, only the constant delete, install sequence sorted it.

Kewl (Y) That was going to be my advice... R&R them, it works.

Now, you & others know for future, if need be.
