Autoplay for audio CD not working

I have VLC installed, and the Autoplay and file associations set. But the autostart doesn't. I can right-click to start play, but can't it be set to start automatically?

    Regards,

What are your autoplay options set to - Control Panel | Hardware and Sound | Autoplay?

Auto play should be turned off, just in case you get a CD with a virus on it. This gives you a chance to scan before use - you should always scan before use.

Joe, if I have "Use Autoplay for all media and devices" checked [upper left] then AutoPlay works. If I do NOT check that box, but have the same AutoPlay settings set -- turned on for audio CD's and Enhanced Audio CD's -- it does not work.

Paul, I'm just trying to get it to work for audio CD's that I already own.

I rip all my CDs to disk using Media Monkey (free), then I don't need to have the CDs anywhere near the PC.

    cheers, Paul
