Can't open Hotmail folders on one computer

    Hi

We have a problem with Hotmail Outlook

We have two computers, my wifeís laptop first, she is having problems opening folders in Hotmail.

Her INBOX was getting full and hard to find things, so I said make some folders and sort them by subject, her laptop is Wifi, so I said do it on mine, itís faster itís hardwired which she did. But now she canít open the new folders on her laptop, but she can see them.

My computer, I can see the folders I can open the folders and move mail around.

So the question is, why will the laptop not open the folders?

I use Windows Live Mail to access a variety of e-mail accounts from various machines, and I have to go to each of the other machines and update each account's list of folders after adding, deleting or changing folders from any other machine. I do not have experience with Office Outlook Hotmail, but I would guess you need to do something similar.

    Hi Leejosepho

Thanks for getting back to me.

I use Windows Live Mail, but the Hotmail account is not connected in any way.

My wife as used both m/c before to read and answer emails with no problems, so what is different this time

Still just guessing, but the laptop now needs to be synced or given permission or whatever.

I would have to install Outlook to have a look for myself, but maybe something here will help:

Just to be clear - are you both using a browser to access her email account? Which browser? If not a browser, what program?

What version of Windows are you running?

    What version of IE?

    Are both up-to-date with patches?

Is Microsoft Silverlight installed on your wife's PC? If not, use the "Download Silverlight Plug-in" button on the upper right part of the page.
