Disappearing "Welcome Back" Screen Word 2013

Word 2013 has a "Resume reading" capability. When you reopen a document Word is supposed to remember where you were and show a "Welcome Back" Screen. If you click on the screen it is takes you to where you were in the document when it was last saved.

    It is described here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/w...102809597.aspx

For me the Welcome Back screen flashes onto the screen for a second or so and then disappears too quickly to click on it.

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, is there a solution?

On mine, after the message disappears (around 2 seconds) a bookmark symbol is still there at the vertical scroll bar. Clicking on that will take you to the spot.

Thanks for the response, Charles. But the bookmark symbol doesn't show at all. There is nothing on the screen after "Welcome Back" flashes briefly and disappears.

It will disappear as soon as you use the scroll bar or type anything. It will also disappear if use of the arrow keys scrolls the screen.

Shift+F5 should take you to the last edit point. (Word 2003, 2010, 2013, but not Word 2007)

If not, do you observe the problem if you start Word in Safe mode?
