    Samsung SCX-4100

I just purchased a Dell Optima running Windows 8.1 that does not have parallel or serial ports. The Samsung SCX-4100 has only a parallel port (male Centronics plug). I purchased a USB to IEEE 1284 parallel printer cable and plugged the USB end to a USB port on the Dell. I have the original CD that came with the Samsung.

However, Windows will not find the Samsung. I cannot get the setup program on the Samsung CD to work.

    Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated.

I downloaded the drivers. However, I am not able to get the printer to accept the print job.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll keep working on it.
