Width of Columns in Column Chart

I have made a chart (vertical columns) with only five data points and I would like to widen the columns.

In Format Data Series - Series Options I have adjusted Overlap to 100% Overlap and Gap Width to 0% which looks like there should be No Gap. But there is still too much whitespace between the columns. What settings can I change to widen the columns?

Could you attach an example file? I can't replicate the issue. When I create a vertical columns and just set the Gap width to 0 (I don't need to change the overlap), I get them full width, without doing anything else. See Example with 5 items:

Perhaps you have a timescale axis?

Timescale. That's it! When I change the five date values to 1-5 I can adjust the Overlap and Gap to display what Steve displays. I'll have to find a workaround to display the dates if I need a zero Gap between the columns. Thank you Steve and Rory.

You can put the time in as a category (Text Axis) and there will only be 5. What the time-scale allows is to have different separations of time between the segments.
