    windows media player internet radio

Hi - is there a way to "pin" or otherwise indicate which stations to have listed in a Favorite sort of list? I only listen to 2 news stations and don't want to have to drill down to find them each time I open the Player.
    Thank you

What is "windows media player internet radio"? I have windows 8.1.1 with windows media player but have no clue to the reference of "internet radio" with it. I see it no where in my WMP.

I don't have Win 8, but you might have something called Media Center....

In Win XP on the Media Player's home page,I clicked on Media Guide and toward bottom of that page is Internet Radio. From there you choose a category.

Or do a search for Windows Media Center internet radio, or some such.

    Good luck.

Sadly, with the release of windows 8, MS thought it would be a good idea to remove that. However, MS did offer it as a free one time download, now if you want it you have to pay for it.....crazy.

I'll check my windows 7 machine and my XP machine and see if I have what your talking about.....

I had to find it on my XP machine. I see what your talking about now. I have no clue as to whether or not you can do that....I would assume so. I'll play around with it and see what I can find out. There has to be some sort of settings button to do that.

With Windows 8/8.1 go to Windows Media Guide Internet Radio. Radio stations selected there will be streamed in WMP.

There is no such feature now AFAIK. But I believe there was in an older version of WMP, so you could try that. The only other thing you could do is to click Visit as opposed to Listen, then save it in your browser as a favourite.

I think you'll find that with all the codecs that Media player required, quite a few aren't free. MS found that these cost more and more, but not everyone wanted Media Player, so made it a paid option rather than a free one for anybody. Perhaps not so crazy

I can't find the internet radio on Media Player, but I will have a play as well to see if I can find anything.

Why not make a desktop shortcut to the URL of the stations you like...
