Unhappy RAID Drives With Vista 32 bit?

Older Gateway system with an Intel DG965OT MoBo and a quad core Q6600 CPU.
Two SATA drives; 400 GB original and a newer 1 TB drive that is formatted and empty at present.

Can I set up a RAID 1 mirror system with the two drives?
Is there a Windows addon or utility to get this working?

    Thanks for any help,
    rstew

Some versions of Windows will allow mirroring, but I don't recommend software mirrors - too slow and not resilient enough for proper recovery. Why don't you just image the boot drive to an external disk and set up a backup program that runs regularly?

    cheers, Paul

    Thanks for the thoughts Paul.
I am leaning toward the backup software as you suggest.
Can you or anyone recommend good software for such purpose?

    Thanks,

This thread has a selection, but I pay for backup software because I want the ability to restore to different hardware should my machine fail - it's cheap insurance.
