    Duplex printing in Outlook 2013

Is there a way to duplex print an email in Outlook 2013? Currently if I have a 2-page email, I will print page 1 then put the page back into the printer and then print page 2. Outlook used to have the ability to duplex print. I can duplex print in all other office applications with no problems. I can also duplex print from the internet fine.

    Thanks,

    Mike

As far as I can tell, duplex printing is not a feature of any specific app, it's a feature of your printer, so you need to configure it in the printer options dialog, once you try to print the email.

If you do it manually, I guess that would just imply choosing the proper pages to print, maybe starting with odd pages fist and then the even pages. Again, as far as I can tell, Outlook 2013 allows you to do that without issues.

With Word, you must set the printing properties in Word and in the printer setup screen. It may be the same way with Outlook.

In other words, see if you can set duplex printing both for Outlook and for the printer properties.

Outlook does not need any such configuration. You just need to do set printer properties.

I get the following message when I try to print in duplex mode, "There is a problem with the selected printer. You might need to reinstall the printer. Try again or use a different printer." I am able to print in duplex mode in word, excel, power point and from the internet with no problems. I have tried on 3 different printers/computers and always get the same message from Outlook. Are you able to print a 2-page email in duplex mode?

I would think if the other office applications can handle duplex printing outlook should be able to.

Well, after thinking I couldn't print either, I realized my printing configuration was wrong (had changed the wireless network password and the printer seemed reachable but wasn't). After fixing that,Outlook 2013 printed double sided without any issues.

I suggest that you install a PDF printer, print to it and then print from the PDF to the printer using duplex printing. Maybe you won't have issues if you do that.
