    Windows 7 no-reformat reinstall

I have a Dell Insprion Laptop computer running Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit that is about 4 1/2 years old. I wanted to do a no-reformat reinstall of Windows but during the setup it encountered an error. It says that the storage controller is configured as a RAID. I'm not computer savvy enough to understand what this means in the scope of my computer. Is there a way to work around this so I can reinstall Windows AND reset the RAID configuration afterwards?

I think it has something to do with your BIOS settings and you might need to load those pre-installation RAID drivers of the controller before Windows 7 will allow you to continue the OS installation in your laptop.
