    Discontinue Vista Support?

I was just thinking, if MS want to get everyone upgraded from Vista so they can stop having to support it, why don't they offer register Vista license holders an irresistible deal to upgrade to W7 or W8??

Microsoft normally run promotions when an operating system is released so Vista users have had two opportunities to upgrade at a reduced price (W7 & W8)

I took advantage of both those offers and saved a pretty penny on the full retail costs of both O/S's.

All Microsoft products have defined support terms. The general minimum is 5 years of mainstream support and then 5 years of extended support.

fyi, mainstream support for Windows Vista ended on April 10, 2012 and extended support will end on April 11, 2017.
currently Vista is in extended support stage.
