Windows Server 2012 R2: Strange addition to folder names

Recently I have been findind many of our document folders on our server having -HB1 added. I have been unable to find whats causing this and cant even find out what -HB1 is or why its being added. I dont see anything thats changed lately that would cause this.

Have you checked the directory attributes to see who owns it who owns files in the directory about the time of the change?
You could turn on file change auditing, but that is a last recourse.
