Modifying Display names for MS Exchange accounts in Outlook 2010

When an IMAP account is set up, under "More Settings / Mail Account" you are able to input the name that will be displayed for the account in the Navigation pane.

I don't see any way to do that if it is an MS Exchange account in Outlook. Am I missing it or is it not there? And, if it isn't there, is there another place to rename the account?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

For an Exchange account go to File | Account Settings | Account Settings. Select the account and click on the "Change" button. In the "Change account" form click on the "More settings" button. Use the General tab to change the name.

Joe I was able to do that, but the "new" name doesn't show in Outlook's navigation panel. Still; the old name.

Just did again Joe just to make sure. Still the same (cwbillow@componentics.com) account name in Outlook's navigation pane.

What I still see in the navigation panel in cwbillow@componentics.com, not Comp - CWBillow.

If you go to File | Account Settings | Account Settings and click on change for the account what is in the General tab? I'm trying to see if it was actually changed there.

Sorry, my mistake. If you go to File | Account Settings | Account Settings and click on change for the account, then click on the "More Settings" button. The General tab is where to change the name.

That's where I would have thought as well, Joe. But, the name changes there, but remains the email address in the Navigation panel.

A quirk of Exchange, I suppose.

    Chuck
