    Is the "Recovery Partition" updated by Win7 upgrade process?

    XP Prof to Win7 Home Premium upgrade performed. Has the Recovery Partition been updated or is just wasted disk space?

    No it's not....the recovery partition is still uses the original OS that was installed.

    Since the OP upgraded from XP to Windows 7 the recovery partition is worthless. Why would recovering XP be a good idea. Better to image the current system as long as it is running well.

    The "no it's not" was referring to the OP question to whether or not the recovery partition was updated during the upgrade from XP to 7.

    My answer had nothing to do with your response Joe.....sorry for the miss communication. I totally agree with you on using images to recovery a system....saved my bacon a few times.
