    Unknown files

I accidentally came across about a dozen Zip files located in C:Windows/Java/Packages. I've never seen these before and wondered just what these are and why there are Zip files being stored there. They take up about 11 megs of HD space so if they are not necessary can they be safely deleted?

    Re: Unknown files

There are Java classes and they are necessary for viewing most of web pages properly. If you delete them, Internet Explorer will restore them or, in the worst case, it will prompt you to reinstall Virtual Machine.
If you force IE to uninstall Java plug-in, on the most web pages you will get the message "You can not see our web page. Upgrade your browser..." or something like that.
