    To make such a link useful, tjhe Subject has to be repeated in the Subject line.

    I'm sorry...it appears to me that the link opens the appropriate thread in the Word forum, but maybe it recognizes that it's me attempting to open it. In any event, the subject of the Word thread is "Turn off automatically update document styles."

    Link to 'Turn off auto update' post in Word

    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=wrd&Number=85104&page=0&vie w=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=>http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.p...;o=0&fpart=</A>

    oops, try this for the link...
    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=wrd&Number=85104&page=0 >http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthread...5104&page=0</A>

    Not sure if this link will work, but the question is about automatically updating document styles in Word (all the details are in the other post). Although this started as a Word question, it has really mutated into a VBA question, so I thought I'd post a link here. Thanks...
