    AdBlock Plus and Malwarebytes

I'm thinking of installing AdBlock Plus and have Malwarebytes and WinPatrol running all the time and was wondering if any of you guys know if there would be any kind of conflict if I install AdBlock Plus also...?

For the first response I will come out to your house this winter and shovel your driveway.

    Thanks Guys..

I have all three, including WinPatrol running as well. I haven't seen any problems with this setup.

I'm in England, and we don't always get snow.....!

Thanks access, I'll wait for some more replies..I don't suspect there would be any conflicts but just want to make sure..
    You like AdBlock?

Too bad about the lack of snow, I was looking to get away for awhile.

    Bany,

I also have all three running (MalwareBytes Pro, Win Patrol Pro, AdBlock Plus) and also Windows Defender, NoScript, Privacy Badger, and Disconnect all on Win 8.1 Update 1 Pro 64 bit & FF 31.0 w/o any problems at all. HTH

Well, it seems like it's a go..
As usual, I will image first...

I haven't used an adblocker in quite awhile but lately the ads seem to be getting kinda excessive.

    Thanks RG..

Adblock is good, as you will discover after putting on your favourite browser, then looking at websites in another (no adblock) browser!

And if I get snow next winter.....!

From someone who uses them both, I don't understand your question. The two programs have nothing to do with one another. Malware Bytes is not an AV or AS program so it should not be something you're relying on to keep your computer safe. It's a Misc. Malware program that should only be used in conjunction to a good AV program. I use AVG 2014 FREE for that.

AdBlock + is an add-on to your Browser, and has nothing to do with Malware or Malware Bytes.
It blocks ads and banners from overwhelming your browser while you're on the internet. Nothing more and nothing less. It doesn't prevent malware and it certainly can't remove any that you've already gotten.

If you're tired of every screen being ablaze with ad's and banners, then by all means install AdBlock +, it's the best ad blocker I've ever tried.

    good luck!

Well Drwho, next time I will try to phrase my question so that even you can understand it.

I raise my hand here too. I run all the 3 on my desktop as well with nary a hiccup. They coexist peacefully indeed. However, I'd like to point out that AdBlock+ is just a browser plugin and it has no possible way to create problems in Windows.

Not true. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium IS a standalone AV/AS program, that offers real time protection. I use it on 3 of my desktop PCs.

Well Kritz, I just got off the Adblock site and while reading it say that it can block known Malware domains.
    Thanks for your input...

    I will install it today...

I don't want anything that will interfere with my banking site.

That's great Banya. Just curious: Are you installing the plug-in on FF or Chrome?

Also, if you seem to think any (legitimate) add-on interferes with your banking site, there's always a way to disable or switch off that add-on for the particular website you are viewing. Check in the Settings of the add-on to turn it off for that particular website. The settings are always retained for any subsequent visit to the site.

On windows 8.1, installing adblock/adblock+.....I always had a problem with it working/installing correctly but that was some time back. I haven't tried it in a long time as I don't use IE. Let me know how it works with IE....Thanks.
