Word 2007 Lookup Feature not working

Recently Word 2007 'lookup' process has stopped working. When I right click a word, and select 'look up' the box simply shows 'searching' and goes no where. Could this be related to an update? However I am running the same software on my notebook with all the same updates, and it is working on that machine. Both machines are running Windows 7.
    TIA for any help

How is the Internet connection on that machine? I get results like that when I don't have a good Internet connection.

Thanks for the tip Charles. However, the problem is with my PC which has good cable connection. My notebook which is connected wirelessly does not have this problem.

For me the problem appears when the ISP drops the ball and cable vs. wireless is irrelevant.

    Thanks for the reply Charles.
I have just found a work around on the MS community forum. For some unknown reason (I tip its an update) the 'search all references' no longer works, but if you scroll through the references and choose the Thesaurus definition first, it will produce a result, then choose English assist it will show the word meaning. Clumsy but it does work, err....in the end!
