    Hey Phil.
What is the error you get when you try to install the updates in Windows Update?
Have you tried installing the update directly from the Microsoft site? Here are the links:

    KB2560656: http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/downl....aspx?id=27073
    KB2563227: http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/downl....aspx?id=26991

Thank you for your reply and the fix. Yes I did try to download directly on my computers windows update and got the error 800Bo100. Why did it need the stand alone installer? Thank you again.

Are these the only two updates that refuse to install on your system?

Found this article on the error code you encountered in Windows Update:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956702

Follow all the instructions carefully and if any step seems vague or not detailed enough, do let us know.

Glad to know Phil. Were you able to install the updates manually or did that Support article help you?

No, there was no 0X on the MS website either. It was only 800Bo100.

Since you told that you had problems only with these two updates, you don't need to worry too much about it. However, you can bookmark that link I sent you, and if you indeed get that error again the next time you install updates, you can visit that link and follow the instructions posted by MS.

As to why you needed the standalone installer, well, Windows Update does have the tendency to goof up. After all, it's a Micro$oft product, eh?
