Is Win 8.1 Update 2 here?

    Hey Y'all,

I just ran the Aug windows updates and now my PowerShell $PSVersionTable variable shows: BuildVersion: 6.3.9600.17090 where it had shown 6.3.9600.17042 after Update 1. I'm just wanderin'?

Update 2 ended up being a very simple update not the substantial update that Update 1 was. See August 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 for details.

    Joe,

Very Interesting! I copied the list of KBs listed here into Excel and compared to the list of installed updates also imported into excel and NOT ONE is installed on my machine! Windows Update shows only one optional update for hardware! What gives?

Here's a sample of the output.

Those KBs weren't updates, but things the update (KB2975719) fixed.

At the top of the list; "This update package fixes the issues that are documented in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles.".
