Fonts that do not appear in the font list

    Hello,

    I have a windows 7 64 bit system and Microsoft Office 2010.

One of the fonts provided is Georgia. Within that font group is Georgia Bold Italic. It does not appear in the font list on any of the 2010 applications.

It also does not appear on the paint font list.

Is there any way to add this (or any other provided font) to the font list.

    Thanks

You can download the Georgia Font here:
    http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Georgia/

    Installing fonts on Windows 7

Double-click on a font file to open the font preview and select 'Install'. Or you can also right click on the font file you just downloaded and click on 'Install'. That's it. Make sure you have Administrator privileges on target machine to install fonts.

    Hi Jerry

The font is already installed on my computer. I have tried downloading it from another source. When I try to install it I receive a message saying that it is already installed on my machine.

    Thanks

There may not be an individual file corresponding to Georgia Bold Italic, since all the usual four variants (Normal, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic) may be included in the same file. Hence you may see just "Georgia" in the font list, and have to set the attributes Bold and Italic yourself.

    Hi Batcher,

Thanks for the information. However, I want to be able to display and use both Georgia and Georgia Bold Italic in the font list.

Perhaps I am not understanding you properly.

    Thanks

I have the Georgia Font installed on Win7. If I double-click it in Control Panel, Fonts it will then show the 4 versions of it.
    GeorgiaFont.jpg

I was able to right-click one of the 4 and in a different Folder Paste it but when trying to Install it was warned it was already installed.

I opened Word 2010, chose the Georgia Font in the ribbon, typed some text, Selected it and clicked the B icon in the ribbon to get it bolded, same for Italic and Underline. Same results in WordPerfect and Wordpad.

In other words the base Font is on the list and the various versions of it for selecting are on the ribbon [Formatting Toolbar]

    Hi Berton

    Thanks a bunch.

I obviously didn't understand BATcher. I'm sure that is what he meant as well.

I guess I was looking for a complicated solution to a simple problem

Thanks again to both you and BATcher.
