    After KB2993651

So last night I was doing some maintenance on the network and saw a windows update to be applied on my 2008 r2 server. Went ahead and did so only to loose all domain name resolution from the device (it is the domain controller and primary DNS server of the network). Uninstalled the update, still no DNS. Found it had added ::1 as a static ipv6 dns entry in the ipv6 settings. Removed that, still no DNS. Reconfigured the server forwarder because apparently that got blown out as well. Now the server and all network devices can resolve DNS names to IPs, however some web pages still wont work (even ones that are resolvable). In particular: cannot hit any microsoft websites including technet (which has been an absolute pain), msn.com, microsoft.com, zdnet.com, facebook.com and others as well that seem unrelated.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on where I go from here to trouble shoot this beyond just packet captures?

    Thanks

    Mark
