    You do need them to secure your password store/manager, otherwise you can't remember the different passwords you use for every web site.

    Mine aren't overly complex and I don't lose any sleep over it. i worry more about the recent flurry of credit card and site password data base breach's than individual internet password hacking. The bad guys go after large password data bases where there is a bigger pay off.

    All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses and if the malware doesn't self replicate it just isn't a virus.
