    ask.com

    Ask.com is showing up as my default homepage. I read a few posts on google and none have helped. I used malwarebyetes.

    Ask.com is usually a checked box when you download/update java. If you don't uncheck the box, you get Ask.com along with the java download. Basically it's one of those add-ons that you have to watch out for when downloading "free" programs.

    BHO tab, disable and remove ask.com,
    goto internet settings, change your home page, and from that point on if anything tries to change it again, winpatrol will ask you if you agree.

    The next time you download and install software take the Custom Install option. If you choose custom you can uncheck all the prechecked things like the Ask.com toolbar.
