Deleting disabled ports in Windows 2008 Server SP2.

    Hello folks,

    First time poster

We have on one of our MS 2008 SP2 servers disabled ports in Server Services, I was hoping to find a way to get removed so that we could possibly resuse the port for future things. Searching Google I kept finding ways to disable to printer ports, but I need to remove the ports that are contained in Server Services.

    Thanks for your all's time!

What ports have been disabled and what were you hoping to use them for?

    cheers, Paul

    Hello Paul,

Here is a screenshot to better show you what I am talking. We have our software creating ports for various BatchService and BatchManager and WFService options for users. These services allow our software to work batch requests and allow users to open the link to the software. My goal is to have all the disabled ports be removed and in the hope to be able to reuse them again, but in a functional manner of course

I hope I explained it somewhat better

Your screen shot shows a disabled Windows service - effectively a background program with no user interaction. As the service is disabled it will not be using any network ports so you can use the port for something else.

    cheers, Paul
