    Missing addresses in outlook 2013

If I open the People area of outlook 2013 and search for chairman@xyz.com it does not show up in my list of addresses. If I go back to Mail and start a new email and put "chair" in the To: field, the address chairman@xyz.com shows up. Why doesn't it show up in People? This is really bugging me (and my husband for whom I am the IT person!) and I can't figure out why it's happening.

What shows up in entering something into the To: or any other address field is a list of addresses with similar start characters from previous emails that have been sent, irrespective of whether those addresses are in the address book. An easy way to include in the address book is to right click on the address in any email received from or sent to that address and adding the address to the address book.
