    mouse/touch pad problem

    All of a sudden my touch pad will not work.....I have to use the mouse, or I can't use the laptop. it was not always this way, just has happened.....there are times when I do not want to use the mouse. any help is very much appreciated. thank you, John

    Usually a reboot will fix this...have you done that? Next would be to check for a touch pad driver update. Are there an FN key combo that will on your laptop enable/disable the touch pad. On my Samsung RV511 it's FN + F10.

    You can also try uninstalling the touchpad software then deleting or uninstalling the touchpad in device manager, rebooting, then install the entire software package over again.

    -Just make sure you have ready access to a fresh copy of the touch pad's driver software.

    It could also be that the pad itself has undergone wear and is the primary fault.
