Unhappy Some laptops not connecting to Internet

    Hi All
I need information on this problem that I have in a school. The school purchased 14 laptops with wins 8.1 installed with all updates installed and up to date. The laptops are brought into the classroom via trolley with an zyxel NWA 1100-n the zyxel is then connected to a port on the wall to transmit wireless to the laptops. the problem is that only 12 of the laptops will connect but not necessarily the same one will not connect it is quite random it is like the first 12 who get in first will connect. I am wondering why the 14 don't connect at the same time. I have tried the following checked the mac addresses and when the twelve are on and I add a iphone it picks it up to give me 13 mac addresses. checked the no of ip addresses that the zyxel can give and that is ok. The broadband speed coming into the building is up to 7mps. What else could I try to solve this puzzle?

    thanks

Assigning static IP addresses outside of the DHCP range on two of them could do it, but open a command prompt on each and enter ipconfig /all to see what and if the last two are getting DHCP IP addresses.

Can you clarify the broadband speed ?

In addition to my previous post, Page 24 in the Zyxel NWA 1100 User Manual looks interesting as a possible solution to split the 14 machines into groups http://www.manualslib.com/manual/363...-Nwa-1100.html

If you haven't resolved your issue, this may help: Is there a hardware firewall behind your Internet modem/router? If so, it may be an older model that "counts" or meters the number of hosts (PCs) needing Internet access, and refuses this access if the # of hosts exceeds the number that are permitted/licensed by the firewall. I've supported SonicWALL firewalls since the late '90s -- many of the earlier models were limited to 5, 10 or 25 hosts. You can confirm this by power-cycling the hardware firewall and trying to access the Internet on some of those questionable laptops. They all should connect if they meet the licensed count.
