    VB Macro (Office 2000)

I need to extract data from several hundred word documents, eliminate duplicates from the extracted data and compare this file to another file made from extracted data from another group of word documents. I hope this makes sense!

It is likely that you can do the deed with a macro.
See the list of Word VBA books at my URL below.

Hi, dm19134. What you ask for, makes sense... however, the description is a bit vague for anyone to assist. And, depending on the formatting of the documents from which you will extract the data... it may not be easily possible.

The files I want to extract from are not protected, they are basic documents

You really need to be more specific especially about the structure and formatting of the documents. Are they tables or just free text. Tables would most likely be the easiest to deal with.

    What constitutes a duplicate ?
