Internet Connectivity

This is a fishing expedition!

I consult to a small law firm who uses SyGate on a Win98 computer for internet connectivity.

The computer died (HDD), so I had to rebuild it. All the SyGate info & install files were on the dead HDD, so we had to use the new version. BIG TROUBLE!

The new version has ALL SORTS of dial & hang-up bugs. SyGate admits to these & says they're working on fixes (for 2 weeks now).

We need an alternative connection sharing / firewall program for use with a dial-up connection.

What direction can the ever-helpful Loungers give me?

Re: Internet Connectivity

As a temporary measure, you can use Windows built-in Internet Connection Sharing and ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm or other low-cost firewall...
Don't forger about antivirus!

I have had good experience with WinProxy. It is available for 30 day eval.
