Blank Screen, All Advanced Boot Options Fail ...

    Hi,

I have a VAIO running Windows 7 with a black screen, attempted advanced boot option to repair computer, however, the password is not recognized. Last known configuration results in black screen. Other options result in black screen or unresponsive in waiting for files to load.

    Need advice. Thanks

A Paragon or Kaspersky Rescue disk could help you get back in if it's software related, but you may also need to use Seatools for DOS to check your HDD.

Paragon Rescue disk has its own burner so you just need a DVD http://www.paragon-software.com/home.../download.html

Kaspersky doesn't but you can create a bootable disk with ImgBurn.

You can also use ImgBurn to create a bootable disk for Seatools for DOS http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support...oads/seatools/

    Good Luck !

I don't think it's Memory as you can get into the Advanced Boot options but you could try with just one RAM module in either slot and then with any others.

Hi Sudo15. Yes, I did check the RAM modules prior so, you're correct, it's not memory. Will try the Paragon Rescue first. Thanks again.

Just a note: Quarantining a virus or deleting it doesn't always repair any damage it has already done.

Use the Paragon disk now as that can do Boot sector repairs.
