    IE and Vimeo problem

I have no problems looking at something on Youtube. However, there is something I am trying to view on Vimeo and can't. It'll stutter for a second or 2 and then freeze. I'll click on the screen image and it might start for another second and then freeze.

Can anyone help me, please, with this problem?

    Thanks,
    Dick

    Some suggestions are found here:

If that doesn't help, you might want to post on the Vimeo help forum:

With video problems in IE, going Tools - Internet options and under the Advanced tab, check the first option which is for Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering can resolve a number of problems - but looks like Jerry has beaten me to it with that one.

Refreshing the page can also help sometimes.

I guess I'll have to post to Vimeo's help forum, since, when I checked, I was already using software rendering.

I have one web site that I visit which doesn't always come up and hitting the Refresh normally does it for me.

Which version of IE are you using and have you tried it in Compatibility mode ?

I'm running IE11, and I have tried it in Compatibility mode.
I'm going to follow jwitalka's advice and post my problem on Vimeo's Help Forum.

If/when I get a resolution to the problem, I'll post the solution back here.
It might help someone else in the future.

I’ve always had trouble with Vimeo videos and have used a couple solutions. First, after the video begins to play, select the pause button immediately. This will allow the video to fully load. After it’s loaded, select the play button and it should play without any trouble because, instead of viewing it as a streaming file, you’re now viewing it as a loaded file temporarily installed on your computer. Second, if it’s a free video, then instead of viewing the video through your browser, download it as a saved file to your computer using a free download manager such as Freemake Video Downloader (http://www.freemake.com), Free Download Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org), or aTube Catcher (http://www.atube.me/video/index.html). Once the file is downloaded to your computer, you can view it at your leisure using a free video player like Media Player Classic Home Cinema (http://mpc-hc.org) or VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org).
