    Angry New HP with basic Windows 7(64) problems

    Frustrated by two small Win 7(64) problems:

    First, computer will not join my previously established Homegroup. I have two other Windows computers that are on the Homegroup, but the new HP won't join.

    Second, computer demands a login after recovering from sleep despite my setting this requirement off.

    Any/all help appreciated.

    Which version of Windows are they? Win7 has 6 versions, Home Basic being one of those.

    For the second issue, it should have been posted as a new problem of its own so as to be properly noticed. Do you have a login password set for Windows? May have to not use one since several things use the same login information such as the screensaver and the Lock feature.

    Have you heard of the 'God Mode' folder? It might help with login after sleep problem.

    1. create a 'New Folder' on you desktop,
    right click on it, properties - replace New Folder (name) with:

    GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
    (copy & paste this)

    2. rename the folder to: God Mode (or whatever)
    (you can get to all these places via different methods but this puts all the settings under one
    icon for you)
