    Windows XP download?

Where can I get an image of XP 16-bit? I have a valid key, but my DVD won't install.

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

XP is 32-bit which still supports 16-bit. Does the install get an error? Not read the DVD at all?

Are you try to install XP Home or XP Pro?

I doubt you'll find an Official download since Microsoft dropped support for it back in April. And you'll need to know if it's an OEM version or Retail version. Also at play is whether your Product Key will work if the disc has SP1, SP2 or SP3 updates. I never saw a disc marked with SP3 but have a couple that have SP1 and SP2 printed on them [one of each].

Joe I have two copies (including the original DVD/CD, and both gave me the same error. It's XP -Pro. I finally just now went and got MS Virtual PC (with XP mode) and that seems to work fine.

I had XP installed on my desktop as a second O/S, but evidently my laptop didn't like it.

    Regards,
    Chuck

Berton, as I mentioned to Joe, I got the MS VM to run the software. Having a dual boot would have been cleaner, but oh well. It was/is a direct MS purchase version of XP with SP-2.

    Chuck

    Did you try this?

That gives a dual boot without the need for an extra partition to boot into W10.
