    assigning an item to all contacts in a category (outlook 2000)

    is there a way i can have a journal item - such as a word document come up against the activities record for all contacts who are members of a particualr category?

    yes, but not easily. you can use the contacts button but have to know which contacts to select.

    in other words manually enter the contacts? I was hoping there was a way i would just say business for example and then the item would be recorded against the journal of all contacts in the business category list

    yes - manually select the contacts from the list (contacts button on the form)

    i tried grouping contacts by category and dragging the group to the contacts field of theform, but it didn't work in ol2002 - it might in older versions (some OLE linking capabilities was reduced in ol2002)
