    VirtualBox install

I'm trying to install VirtualBox on Windows 8.1 64bit. I downloaded the Version 4.3.18. but when I try to create the virtual machine I can not find Windows 8.1 (64 bit) only (32bit) as shown in the Windows Secret Newsletter How to safely test-drive Win 10. Can you help? I could not find anywhere to just open the 64 bit download.
    Thank you

You should verify that the virtualization support in your CPU is turned on in the BIOs. There are a lot of utilities that will tell you if your CPU supports virtualization, but from my experience those tools will tell you that you are virtual capable even though virtualization is turned off in the BIOs. One sure way to tell if virtualization support is enabled in BIOS is to run the Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection tool from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ls.aspx?id=592
Download it and run it, it will tell you if virtualization is enabled. Only if it is enabled will you be able to create 64-bit virtual machines.
