    Updates.

    Hello.
Are you locked into forced WUs, no choice to selectively accept any updates ? My screen shows a greyed out line where normally one could change this procedure. I have able to "hide" some though. Have a nice day. Jean.

    Jean,

I believe so. MS wants everyone working on the same version so they don't get comments on things that have been fixed or features that have been eliminated, etc., would be my guess.

You cannot opt out of automatic updates for the technical preview. Microsoft is going to regularly update Win10 with fixes and new features. Not everyone will necessarily get the same feature set. They want to make sure that the new and updated code gets the widest distribution and testing.

Agreed, JoeP. It was just a query from me as I could not change it and now it makes sense.

I have an old PR called PF2000, a checking app that runs fine except that it will not snap at all. The screen still snaps fine as I can get my Bank account on screen and then build PF2000 from the displayed data. Another W-10 TP idiosyncrasy. Thanks for your attention. Jean.

You can disable updates (or change to check only or download only) with a simple registry tweak:

Disable Windows Update in Windows 10

But why would you want to?
