Some of the options in left-hand panel are red or orange, Can't find what that means. Thank you

I just checked mine and don't see that. Which version do you have? Mine is Office 2013 Professional and shows the version as 15.0.4659.1000/1001. It might make a difference if it's the free Starter version that was included by some OEMs/Brands, not all features are available and has some advertising on the right of the main/editing window..

If you are doing customizations for use by others, do not bother with this customization dialog. The customizations it makes cannot be shared conveniently. Customize the Ribbon and QAT.

I don't see the orange you are seeing. Attached is a screen shot with three panels labeled 1, 2, and 3. What series of commands are you using?

    Hi acefmayer,

FWIW, I can't see anything unusual under "Commands not in the ribbon" or "All commands." However, I'm running a trial version of 64-bit Office 2013 Pro Plus on a beta of Windows 10.

Is there any chance you could post a screen shot so we can see what you're seeing?

    Best, Kim

Am embarrassed -- after studying the choices in the Commands lists, I realize those colors are there to help one understand the option - i.e. in All Commands, the Close option has an orange folder. Though how that helps, is a mystery to me.

    Thank you for your post.

Ah, I see that the Close commands are a mixture of orange folders and red buttons with an X in them. Those are the icons MSoft has associated with each of those commands. If you place that command on the ribbon or in the QAT, that icon will also appear.

Glad you figured it out! Best, Kim
