    Translucent Rectangle

When I drag a window to a new position on the desktop a translucent rectangle appears until I stop dragging it. How can I stop that rectangle appearing?

    Advice would be appreciated.

Disable "Display Pointer Trails" on your mouse. Go to Control Panel, mouse, pointer options.

Calimanco, I said thanks without trying your suggestion because I took it for granted it would work. It didn't on my PC, but I found the option that did i.e. in System Properties-Visual Effects Settings-I unchecked "Show translucent selection rectangle".
