    Looking for free web space

    Hi

Does anybody know a free web space that I could put a web site on?

I have a site on x10hostings, and it spends more time down that a little, I have been unable to update the site for a week or more.

Try your ISP, almost all provide some site space for their customers.

    Google Sites

There are lots of places if you search, the problem is knowing which might be reliable. Your ISP or Google are probably decent places to try first.

    Hi Mike

Thanks for getting back to me

I have used up my ISPs free web space with my own site, the site I am looking for free space is for an OAPs forum web site.
I will try Google Sites it as got to be better then x10Hostings

    P.S.

    Thanks any way

Google will not let me load the site which I already have, but only to create a new site, with pages of minutes and agendas to be able to down load I think I will look some where else

No, I'm not. It's just that my education over the years taught that the first time an Acronym is used the full name of what it stands for is also used in that sentence.

Computer forums have visitors/members from many countries and understanding their speech gets interesting at times.

OAP is not a common abbreviation outside of UK/Ireland/Australia.

    Hello friend

There are lot of web hosting companies are providing free hosting to the users

But they are not support after you get that hosting so always better to go paid hosting

It's now deprecated in the UK, we're now senior citizens.

Here's a chart of web site builders, some free like Wix and some chargeable -
http://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/...parison-chart/. You could of course try Wordpress.
From a UK OAP, senior citizen or just experienced

I guess I'm a YAP (Younger Aged Pensioner). Retired last year at 59, receiving occupational pension but not yet reached statutory retirement age (in UK). My partner's kids call me 'old fart' but I haven't worked out what the acronym means. Famous As Retired Technician?

My apologies... I know this is off-topic...

I too am looking for some free webspace, since my ISP did away with what it offered some time ago. Don't need much space or fancy features. But one absolute requirement is FTP access for uploading / manipulating the files in my webspace.

I am not sure someone would give the free space to have the headache of FTP access. However, for only $2.95/month you can have a web site with a whole set of features and free plug-ins: http://www.800-webdesign.com/WebHosting.html. I am only not sure if they offer free domain name at this time since the cost of domain name is 100% more than it used to be. E-mail to their webmaster to find out or call.
