IE Very Slow to Open htm Files Saved

After saving a web page previously opened in IE, IE then takes more than a minute or two to open that file. This occurs on a Dell desktop and an HP notebook, both of which are running Win 7 Pro, 64 bit and IE 11, 32 bit, and updated with the same important Windows updates.

Any thoughts, or am I just lucky?

If any other web sites are slow to load then running netsh winsock reset catalog as an admin from the command prompt could help and you can also add the command ipconfig /flushdns

S/He's talking about web pages saved as local files, not access to remote sites.

I save useful URLs in a Wordpad doc, so wasn't sure if that is what dapster meant.

BruceR is correct, problem is opening previously saved local files.

How did you save, as a "single file .mht format" [in IE], as a "Web page, Complete" or as a "Web page, html only"? The first has everything in one file, second includes a Folder of the same name with _files added to that name and the third usually has no images.

Each page was saved as a "Web page, Complete."
