Quicken 2012 Help function doesn't work; reinstallation doesn't fix

The Help function in my Quicken Deluxe 2012 (latest update) has stopped working. When a topic is entered in the Search pane, it produces a list of potential topics, but clicking on any of these topics is simply ignored. I did a complete uninstallation (twice, first using Revo Uninstaller and second using the Quicken-specified method, including QcleanUI.exe) and after a Windows restart, a reinstallation of the newly downloaded installation files. All that succeeded in wasting a half a day or so, but didn't fix the problem. I don't use the Help function often, hence I have no idea when it stopped working, or what other program I might have installed to cause the problem.

Quicken, Inc does not give support (not even chat) to anything but their latest version, so that is no help.
The Quicken Support Forum has been of no help beyond suggesting the above procedures. Anybody out there have another suggestion?

    OS: Win7-sp1
Plenty of memory and disk space.

If you suspect a program conflict then try the operation in Safe Mode with Networking or in a clean boot http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

In Safe Mode etc. all third party start up programs and some services will be isolated, whereas in a clean boot, all that you disable will be isolated except your AV program which will reinstate itself.

Quicken help uses iSEEK Answerworks, and if that program is uninstalled the help gets broken: Answerworks

But I don't know how that helps in this situation!

/BruceR/ I checked, and AnswerWorks was reinstalled at the same time Quicken was. How would I go about testing it, I wonder. I did re-run the .msi file to "repair" the installation, but that did not fix this problem.

Try uninstalling Quiken again and then use the Qcleanui tool provided here:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/he.../GEN82227.html
    Then try another reinstall.
